Images of the space telescope Hubble reveal the farthest details of our universe and give us insight into how we've come into existence. Pillars of Creation are remnants of ancient stars, leaving vast clouds of stellar material behind when they spectacularly exploded in the distant past... and these clouds have become stellar nurseries, regions where out of stardust, new stars are born. Billions of years ago, our star was formed in such a nursery, together with a disk of stellar material that eventually formed planets... and us.
We are made from stardust, and these images help us remember that.
