This spectacular embroidery is a part of the 8-piece “Deep Space Journey” series. It is a series of images from deep space, originally made by Hubble telescope. It can be purchased and admired as a single piece of 40 x 40 cm (15.7 x 15.7 in), or you can get more pieces from the series for your home, office or business premises. The whole series as a set of 8 measures 80 x 160 cm (31.4 x 62.8 in).

This exquisite embroidery depicts the Hourglass Nebula (or MyCn18), as seen and taken by Hubble telescope. The nebula lies 8,000 light-years from Earth in Musca constellation. Its unusual appearance, with two larger outer rings and a small central one, has earned the nebula the nickname the Eye of God. Like other planetary nebulae, it was formed when a star with a mass up to eight times that of the Sun ran out of fuel, evolved into a red giant and then collapsed to become a white dwarf. Some of the nebula’s striking features remain a mystery, but it is possible that there is also an unseen companion star, affecting the nebula with its gravity. The Hourglass Nebula will disperse over a few millennia, with the central white dwarf fading away for billions of years. This will be the fate of our Sun in about 5 billion years. In astonishing colours and in great detail, we have recreated this beautiful cosmic image as the embroidery.

In our Universe, there are two trillion galaxies, each composed of billions of stars, planets, dust and gas. We have selected some of the most spectacular views and unusual phenomena, delivered to humanity by legendary space traveller Hubble telescope*, and recreated them as superb embroideries of great detail and vivid colours.
